Five years in, King River has a new look for a new era.
Our first independent export left Australia for Singapore in January 2022. Since then, we’ve grown into more than 45 markets, with King River Wagyu on the menus of some of the world’s leading steak restaurants. None of that happened by accident.
King River’s supply chain runs through farming properties across Queensland, through a feedlot program refined over three decades, and through a genetics operation built on more than 200 years of collective cattle farming knowledge.
That foundation has not changed, and neither have the values at the core of our business. Family, trust, care, and pride are as central to King River today as they were in the first step on our journey. Our values shape the decisions we make on the farm and in the feedlot, and the way we work alongside the international partners who carry the King River name into their markets. When we talk about family at King River, we mean something broader than bloodlines: it’s the Kemp and Rich families who built this operation, as well as every partner and buyer who has grown alongside us.
For the first five years, we were building for legacy: proving our Wagyu genetics program, refining our product and earning the trust of buyers one market at a time. In that time, we’ve earned global recognition for consistency and industry awards, as well as opening distribution relationships that now span Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. That work was always in service of something larger.
Our vision is to make King River the global benchmark for Wagyu excellence: the brand chefs trust when quality matters most, and the name consumers recognise as Australia’s finest. We’re building towards that now, and our new identity is designed to carry that vision.
Legendary Wagyu is the driving idea behind this rebrand. It’s the case five years of work has been building: consistent marbling across our full product range, from King River Red through to Jewel, backed by a feedlot program with four decades of refinement and the supply chain transparency our international partners depend on to deliver consistent product at scale. The new identity is designed to make that story visible wherever King River appears, from packaging to plate.
The new King River brand draws its colour palette from the country where our cattle are raised. Scarlet from the red soils of Queensland, charcoal and ghost gum from the landscapes our farmers work every day. Photography moves between paddock and plate, because the story of King River Wagyu lives at both ends of that journey. The typeface carries the confidence of a brand with real history behind it. Our insignia reads “Legendary Wagyu,” a standard we hold ourselves to in every animal we finish and every box we ship.
You’ll see the new look rolling out across our website, social channels and packaging over the coming months.
Existing customers will be able to access brand assets via the King River Compass customer portal – launching in June.
